Sew a Riva Jacket Workshop

Riva Jacket

During this workshop you will make a Sew Different Riva Jacket. The Riva Jacket is a simple, unlined jacket with grown-on sleeves. It has a wide cut-off neck trim for a Japanese look, and large patch pockets. It can be made in a heavy fabric as a winter warmer, or in a sumptuous satin as loungewear.
The pattern suggests using heavy cotton, linen, raw silk, velvet, denim, boiled wool or satin.

What you will need for this workshop:

150cm / 60” wide – 2.5m.
Not suitable for fabric – 112cm / 45” wide
Notions: 0.5m iron-on interfacing

You can bring along your own fabric or purchase fabric in the shop on the day of your course. All workshop attendees will  receive a 10% discount on all fabrics bought and used in the workshop.  Please also note that the workshop cost includes the cost of the pattern, which you can take home with you after the class.

To attend this workshop we would expect you to be able to do some basic sewing.  If you are unable to sew but are interested in this sewing course, please sign up to a beginner sewing course first.

Please bring your own packed lunch.  Tea/coffee, water & cordial will be provided throughout the day.
