This workshop is a perfect introduction to knitting textured designs using cables.
Designed for those who are already comfortable with the basic knit and purl stitches, this class breaks down cable knitting into clear, manageable steps.
You will learn how cables are formed, how to use a cable needle and how to read simple cable instructions.
You will practice a classic cable pattern and create a small swatch which you can take home as a reference.
By the end of the workshop, cable knitting will feel far less mysterious and much more fun.
You’ll learn how to:
- Understand how cable stitches are constructed
- Use a cable needle with confidence
- Work basic cable patterns (left- and right-leaning)
- Read simple cable charts and written instructions.
Prerequisites: Comfortable knitting and purling, casting on, and casting off.
Duration: 2 hours | Level: Confident beginners.
