Trousers Workshop
During this workshop you will make The Avid Seamstress Culottes Trousers Sewing Pattern. This course will be spread across three consecutive weeks on evenings at our Clifton Moor Studio in York.
What you will learn:
You will learn the following:
- How to make pleats
- How to add inseam pockets
- How to attach a fitted waistband
- How to insert a concealed zipper
- How to sew a wide hem.
This is a lovely garment which is suitable for confident beginners/intermediate sewers looking to learn new skills.
The pattern suggests using light to medium weight woven fabrics: cotton, cotton lawn, poplin, corduroy, chambray, denim or linen.
What you will need for this workshop:
- Fabric (see below)
- Thread to match fabric
- Iron-on interfacing (light/medium) 0.5m
- 20cm / 8" Invisible/Concealed zipper
Between 2-2.5 metres depending on the width of your fabric and on your dressmaking size.
You can bring along your own fabric or purchase fabric and notions in the shop prior to your course. All workshop attendees will receive a 10% discount on all fabrics & notions bought and used in the workshop.
Please also note that the workshop cost includes the cost of the pattern, which you can take home with you after the class. To attend this workshop we would expect you to be able to do some basic sewing. If you are unable to sew but are interested in this sewing course, please sign up to a beginner sewing course first.
