Tailors Pressing Ham

A tailor's ham, also known as a dressmaker's ham, is a very useful sewing tool. It is a tightly stuffed pillow which is used for ironing out curved seams. It is used as a curved mould when pressing certain parts of a garment such as sleeves, darts, cuffs or collars. The curved edges of the Tailors Ham conform to the body shapes in garments, making it ideal for pressing sleeve-heads, curved seams and shaping collars. It helps prevent seam turnings from showing when pressed too.
