Fabric Shop Assistant and/or Sewing Studio Tutor
Sewcialising is a fabric shop and sewing studio in the heart of York city centre. We sell beautiful fabrics, haberdashery, sewing gifts and yarns & host fun sewing and craft workshops.
We are looking for 1-2 creative people to join our lovely team to work in the shop or to help host workshops. The ideal candidate will be flexible and be available on a freelance basis for 1-2 days per week including having availability on weekends and during busy periods.
We are looking for a special someone who is very creative, who can sew, knit or crochet and who generally loves crafting. This person may have a degree in fashion or textiles, or perhaps has many years experience as a self taught sewer or crafter. Ideally this person will have some retail or customer service experience and/or have the confidence to host dressmaking and/or crafting workshops in our lovely sewing studio in York city centre or at our studio in Clifton Moor. (Although we are also recruiting for this position separately too). Either way, this job post will offer a variety of fun tasks as the business grows. We have big plans moving forward!
We’re looking for someone with positive energy who is confident, takes initiatives and is able to work independently. Any experience with social media, websites & video would also be beneficial but is not essential for this role.
