When you are sewing, you will need a way to transfer all those markings and notches from the pattern paper onto your fabric. Here are some of our favourite ways to mark fabric on our sewing projects!
1) Chaco Liner Pen

A chaco pen is a clever little chalk marking tool. You roll it across your fabric and it deposits the chalk powder in a line. This is great for marking fine lines such as darts, as the pen never needs sharpening. The chalk is refillable and comes in different colours too!
2) Erasable Fabric Pens

Erasable fabric pens are a great option for marking fabric, as you can simply iron over them and the ink disappears like magic. You can also use the attached eraser to rub away your markings.
3) Tailor's chalk

It's hard to go wrong with classic tailor's chalk. To keep it sharp, you can use a craft knife to sharpen the edges.
4) Tracing wheel

A tracing wheel is used to transfer pattern details onto fabric. The blade is easy to roll and serrated creating a perforated design onto your fabric. A valuable tool for fashion and textiles designers/students.
5) Vanishing Fabric Marker Pen

This vanishing fabric marker pen clearly marks lines and designs for embroidery, quilting, and sewing. No need to remove marks- they will disappear in 48 hours.
